Club Meetings & Fly Tying

NOFF Club’s Monthly Program Meetings

What: A monthly club program meeting open to the public; if you are curious about our club and contemplating joining, please drop by and check us out.  Our programs cover a wide range of topics from fly fishing to those of general interest to all anglers. Additionally, upcoming outings and events are discussed, donated flies are given as door prizes and recent fishing stories are shared.

When: the last Thursday of each month, except December. Doors open 6:30 pm, meeting begins 7:00pm.

Where: Lakeshore Bait and Marina on 1661 Lakeshore Drive, across the parking lot from Blue Crab Restaurant.

Fly Tying Sessions

What: Hands on fly tying lessons where attendees learn how to tie various flies from nymphs and dry flies for cold water trout and bream to popping bugs and streamers for bass and salt water fish. (The monthly member email will state the flies planned for the tying session that month.)

A club member or guest tier leads in the instruction of the fly patterns while another experienced club member typically roams around providing hands on assistance where needed. Attendees can watch or tie along. Beginners are always welcome. If you have tools, bring them. If not, then the club has sets of tools for attendees to use during these sessions only. Materials are provided.

When: 7:00 pm, twice monthly, except December.

On months with 4 Thursdays, sessions are held the 2nd and 3rd Thursdays.
On months with 5 Thursdays, sessions are held the 3rd and 4th Thursdays.

Where: Location is St. Frances Xavier Church Hall on 444 Metairie Road. Time is 7:00pm.

For holidays or other conflicts, we may reschedule to a different night. Please check our Calendar and Home pages for exact dates and locations. An email is sent out monthly outlining the program, upcoming events, tying sessions and other club information.
