Final Big Year Update: 9/30/18

Kirk Dietrich's Black Drum
Well, we are quickly approaching the end of the Inaugural Big Year Tournament. We have seen excellent member participation, and it looks like more club members have been getting out on the water! This tournament has seen a 19 members submit a total of 141 fish photos! Myself and the other Tournament Coordinators have been pleasantly surprised with the strong response to The Big Year! This is the last update that will be published for this tournament. However, please keep fishing and making you submissions until the the last day of the tournament, 10/31/2018. Although we won't be publishing any more updates, we will continue to accept submissions until this date. The final results of The Big Year will be announced at the upcoming Club Potluck. More information will be available soon about this event. Stay Tuned!

David Karcher's Redfish entry
Also, just as a reminder:  Please be sure that (1.) To include the Big Year Photo ID Card with your Big Year submissions, and (2.) To submit all CPR entries to nolaffc@gmail.com so we can track them more accurately.  Remember, it isn't the size of the fish that's important, it's the diversity of fish species that will determine the winner. The time of 1st entry will be the tie-breaker (in the event it is needed).  Most importantly, have fun!

Grady Johnson's White Bass
There's plenty of fish to catch, and still lots of time to do it! It's never too late to get a start on your species list! I can't wait to see everyone's catches in the 2 months.  If you haven't had the opportunity to pickup a stamped tournament ID card, please let either myself or A.J. Rosenbohm know so you can participate in The Big Year!  Please take advantage of this tournament, and use it as an opportunity to catch fishes you normally don't pursue within the FFI Gulf Coast Council region.
