The Big Year Update - 8/26/18

Bill DeCastro Spotted Bass!
This past weekend, members of the New Orleans Fly Fishers Club made the trip to the McGinnis Camp in Tylertown, MS. Fishing opportunities included the Bogue Chitto River, as well as a pond fishing. Quite a few of those who attended this fishing trip made the most of the opportunity! Our newest club member, Zach Shraberg, made a splash in The Big Year by getting on the leaderboard this weekend with 3 species logged!  Bill DeCastro also made the most of his opportunity, adding 3 new species to his Big Year list, as well! A.J. Rosenbohm also added to his species list, as well, while fishing the Bogue Chitto River. The action wasn't limited to Tylertown, either. Also, just as a reminder:  Please be sure that (1.) To include the Big Year Photo ID Card with your Big Year submissions, and (2.) To submit all CPR entries to nolaffc@gmail.com so we can track them more accurately.  Remember, it isn't the size of the fish that's important, it's the diversity of fish species that will determine the winner. The time of 1st entry will be the tie-breaker (in the event it is needed).  Most importantly, have fun!

There's plenty of fish to catch, and still lots of time to do it! It's never too late to get a start on your species list! I can't wait to see everyone's catches in the 2 months.  If you haven't had the opportunity to pickup a stamped tournament ID card, please let either myself or A.J. Rosenbohm know so you can participate in The Big Year!  Please take advantage of this tournament, and use it as an opportunity to catch fishes you normally don't pursue within the FFI Gulf Coast Council region.
