The Big Year Update! 8/11/2018

Since the last update, There has been a lot of activity! David now has the lead with entries of Gafftop Sail Catfish, White Trout, and Speckled Trout. Kirk Dietrich also added to his species list, with a Redfish he caught. Brian Karcher caught and entered Gafftop Sail Catfish, White Trout, Speckled Trout as well, and maintains his 3rd place position. Chuck Miller also makes a move up the leaderboard, now coming in at 5th place! Chuck made this happen with Needlefish and Croaker entries!

Here's a fun fact for you: David and Brian Karcher have each caught fish in every state of the FFI-Gulf Coast Council Territory! They have entered fish from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida, and now Alabama! Both David and Brian's Gafftop Sail Catfish and White Trout were caught in Alabama waters. They are truly getting into the spirit of The Big Year, and exploring areas outside of their home waters! Here's the Leaderboard as of 8/11/2018:

Also, just as a reminder:  Please be sure that (1.) To include the Big Year Photo ID Card with your Big Year submissions, and (2.) To submit all CPR entries to nolaffc@gmail.com so we can track them more accurately.  Remember, it isn't the size of the fish that's important, it's the diversity of fish species that will determine the winner.The time of 1st entry will be the tie-breaker (in the event it is needed).  Most importantly, have fun!

There's plenty of fish to catch, and still lots of time to do it! It's never too late to get a start on your species list! I can't wait to see everyone's catches in the 2 months.  If you haven't had the opportunity to pickup a stamped tournament ID card, please let either myself, A.J. Rosenbohm, or Jimmie Hyatt know so you can participate in The Big Year!  Please take advantage of this tournament, and use it as an opportunity to catch fishes you normally don't pursue within the FFI Gulf Coast Council region.
