10th Annual Rio Rodeo Announcements!

We have a couple of big announcements for the 10th Annual Rio Rodeo!

First, we have expanded the tournament fishing area. Instead of being limited to City Park and Bayou St. John, participants can now fish all waters of Jefferson and Orleans Parish!

Second, there will be (2) Divisions in the Rio Rodeo!  In addition to Longest Rio, there will now be a division for Most Rios!

We are very excited about these changes for the 10th Annual Rio Rodeo! We will be making other announcements as we get closer to September 22nd! For more information about the 10th Annual Rio Rodeo, please follow the link below for the event page on Facebook:

Also, just as a reminder:  Please be sure that (1.) To include the Big Year Photo ID Card with your Big Year submissions, and (2.) To submit all CPR entries to nolaffc@gmail.com so we can track them more accurately.  Remember, it isn't the size of the fish that's important, it's the diversity of fish species that will determine the winner. The time of 1st entry will be the tie-breaker (in the event it is needed).  Most importantly, have fun!

The Big Year is off and running, full steam ahead!  I can't wait to see everyone's catches in the upcoming months.  If you haven't had the opportunity to pickup a stamped tournament ID card, please let either myself, A.J. Rosenbohm, or Jimmie Hyatt know so you can participate in The Big Year!  Please take advantage of this tournament, and use it as an opportunity to catch fishes you normally don't pursue within the FFI Gulf Coast Council region.

Big Year Update: 6/18/2018

Chuck Miller Longear Sunfish entry caught on The Pushe
As slow as things were last week, that's how much things have picked back up again! Kirk Dietrich was back in action again, submitting 3 saltwater species (Speckled Trout, Silver Perch, and Gulf Killifish)! Grady Johnson also had success in saltwater, with his Redfish entry. Jimmie Hyatt also submited a Gulf Killifish. While most of the action was in saltwater, there was also some success in warmwater this week.

We had a strong showing at The Pushe this past Saturday. The conditions were challenging at the Pushe, due to rain fall from earlier in the week, but Chuck Miller had success adding a Longear Sunfish to his Big Year entries! Things are starting to heat up with The Big Year, and everyone is starting to catch more fish! Let's keep the momentum going, and get on the water!!!  Here are the updated results, as of 6/18/18:
