4th Annual Bream Busters Tournament Results and Recap

Club President A.J. Rosenbohm measuring a nice Bluegill - Photo by Jimmie Hyatt

This past Saturday, the New Orleans Fly Fishers Club hosted the 4th Annual Bream Busters Tournament.  We were fortunate to have excellent weather!  The morning skies were blue, with some light cloud cover, provided all anglers with opportunities to catch some nice fish.  There was also good member participation in this tournament, as we had 11 club members in the field of competition.  Lastly, there were some very nice fish being caught!  The top 5 fish submitted all measured more than 7" in length!  Bill DeCastro and Kirk Dietrich both caught some excellent bluegill measuring in at 8-1/16", but Bill DeCastro had the earlier entry, which broke the tie.  Here are the complete results from Saturday.

David Karcher's Croaker Entry
Also, just as a reminder:  Please be sure to submit all CPR entries to nolaffc@gmail.com so we can track them more accurately.  Remember, it isn't the size of the fish that's important, it's the diversity of fish species that will determine the winner. The time of 1st entry will be the tie-breaker (in the event it is needed).  Most importantly, have fun!

Grady Johnson's Brown Bullhead Catfish Entry
The Big Year is off and running, full steam ahead!  I can't wait to see everyone's catches in the upcoming months.  If you haven't had the opportunity to pickup a stamped tournament ID card, please let either myself, A.J. Rosenbohm, or Jimmie Hyatt know so you can participate in The Big Year!  Please take advantage of this tournament, and use it as an opportunity to catch fishes you normally don't pursue within the FFI Gulf Coast Council region.
